Go Linux!

A short, honest guide to motivate and facilitate migrations to GNU/Linux.

This is my personal take on transitioning from Windows or macOS to GNU/Linux. Most online guides I’ve seen are too abstract and lack a lot of basic understanding of Linux as a whole. They also tend to lie, although I’m not sure how aware of this the authors are. My goal is to provide the necessary information to make the switch as smooth as possible.

Preparing for the Quest

In my experience, there are three things you need to consider before committing to Linux as your new OS: app availability, distributions, and user interface (desktop environment).
